The medical mnemonic to remember that is Drink Alcohol Before Doing Anal.
The 5 steps of grief: Elisabeth Kübler-Ross model
Denial "This can't be happening to me, not me."
Anger "Why me? It's not fair!"
Bargaining ""I'll do anything for a few more years"
Depression "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"
Acceptance "It's going to be okay."
THIS IS THE FAVOURITE THING I'VE LEARNT IN PROFESSIONAL PRACTISE
BECAUSE THEY FEATURED THIS IN A GREYS ANATOMY EPISODE :)
The title Grey's Anatomy was devised as an amalgam of Henry Gray's medical textbook Gray's Anatomy (this textbook's really good..), and the name of lead character Meredith Grey.
Communication.
It's the first thing we really learn in life.
Funny thing is, once we grow up, learn our words and really start talking the harder it becomes to know what to say. Or how to ask for what we really need.
- Meredith Grey
AND FROM MY LECTURE
Communication skills not an optional extra. It is NOT
- just “being nice”
- just common sense
- what you’re born with
- being successful at entering the “Newcastle” program
I'm soooo bored the study's getting to me LOL
This was just the intersting stuff i learnt in Prof Prac..
In Med Sci however.. I learnt the coolest thing..

All stages can be experienced in a short time, they don’t necessarily happen in sequence, you can easily find yourself transported back into a phase you thought you had got through by an incident or phrase or thought

DEPRESSION STAGE
patient Begins to understand the certainty of death – may become silent, refuse visitors and spend much of the time crying and grieving.
Disconnect oneself from things of love and affection. It is not recommended to attempt to cheer up an individual who is in this stage. It is an important time for grieving that must be processed.
