I've been getting this quite often recently.

This blog post is going to scare Yineng hard LOL

Definition of sleep paralysis:

A frightening form of paralysis that occurs when a person suddenly finds himself of herself unable to move for a few mintues. It is due to an ill-timed disconnection between the brain and the body.

• In chinese culture: 鬼壓身/鬼压身": guǐ yā shēn or "鬼壓床/鬼压床": guǐ yā chuáng, which literally translate into "ghost pressing on body" or "ghost pressing on bed
• In korean culture: 가위눌림 literally meaning "being pressed down by scissors". It is often associated with a superstitious belief that a ghost or spirit is laying on top of or pressing down on the sufferer.
• In phillipine culture:"bangungut", or sudden unexplained death syndrome has traditionally been attributed to nightmares.People who have claimed to survive such nightmares have reported experiencing the symptoms of sleep paralysis.

Symptoms:

Sensations of noises, smells, levitation, paralysis, terror and images of frightening intruders

Causes:

Sleeping facing upwards (supine)

Increased stress

Change of environment

Irregular sleeping patterns

Lucid dream that precedes the episode

Alcohol consumption coupled with inadequate sleep

It started off with weird sound kind of like TV friction.. with a feeling of like being in a tunnel, vortex type thing, not being able to move my body but trying to. In my head i was just going "move, move, move".

But now it's what everyone talks about. Like a 'ghost is sitting on you'. Yeah that feeling.

Few nights ago I tried to move then i got the feeling i was falling, like completely off the bed, and trying to hold on. But when i snapped out of it - I was just lying in my bed and fine.

Last night I felt like someone was sitting on me. Then i tried to move and I felt like could see a man coming towards my bed. I tried to scream.. Like I could hear myself full scream in my head something like "get the fuck away". But nothing came out.

Keith says it's because I eat then sleep straight away. Gonna stop that.

lol i was really average. i was always a bit below average or a bit above –__-“  i did well in maths 2u though!! for most of the other subjects i did like shit at school, good in HSC finals.

i do, but i really really hate getting into the water and getting out. i used to swim with my mum but then it got kind of boring… 30 minutes feels like 1hr… i like playing in pools though like splashing around and stuff

i usually try work as much as i can take, see my friends, blog, shop, watch tv or movies and clean the house. sometimes if i’m really relaxed i do random shit like bake stuff, sew to fix clothes and draw.

the only one i use sometimes when my skin is dry is Cetaphil cos it’s soo creamy and non-chemical ahha. sometimes i don’t use moisturiser cos i know my skin will get oily. i like Korean moisturiser too cos they smell really nice :)

yeah of course i do. i wanna marry someone who i’ve known for a few years though haha i wouldn’t rush into marriage cos i wanna marry once only. hopefully.

no –___-“ never in my life. but when i was little i really liked watching shows and reading about ghosts lol but i used to like shit my pants ahahaha…

uhh ghosts lol. um i’m also really scared of vomitting (not so much now cos i haven’t for like 10 years, but i used to cry when i felt sick) and vertigo/heights (i hate rollercoasters and any ride that is higher than 1m)

UMM lol i have more than one. i love the necklace with my Chinese name on it and my F21 necklace with the huge cream bird. i also always wear my Swarovski studs and Polo scarf from Jono so i guess they are also my favourites :) omg i also have these bobby pins that have a row of pearls on them from F21 lol but i never wear them… i really like them though.

not really so far. when i was a baby i had the measles which almost killed me, but i can’t remember that.

nooo i can’t sleep if i do… i always want to though cos they look nice. i always get chai or, if at Palate, taro or black sesame lattes.
